Why We Built Sugarbot to Run Locally
Dr. John Persson, DDS
Co-Founder
When we started building Sugarbot, we had a choice: build a cloud-based system that sends patient X-rays to remote servers, or build something that runs entirely on your desktop. We chose the latter. Patient privacy isn't something we take lightly, and we didn't want practices to worry about where their data was going or who might have access to it.
Running locally also means Sugarbot works even when your internet connection drops. There's no waiting for uploads, no server latency, and no monthly data costs. Your X-rays stay on your machine, processed in real-time, right where they belong. We believe this is how dental AI should work: fast, private, and under your control.
